Artist Statement:

“My work is an exploration of the tension between the surface and the layers underneath.

In my wanderings as a student of material, I search for ways to represent the abstract and ephemeral. I am inspired by the the unending variations of sunsets, streams and shadows. I attempt to capture an educated guess of those liminal moments by reading and reacting to a thorough and arduous color application.

By contrasting the fundamental qualities of the material, with simple forms and delicate layered composition, I hope to draw the viewer into a meditation on time and self. "
